Job Security has been an important campaign for the PSA over the past year and undertakings of 'no forced redundancies' were sought from the Premier and Opposition Leader. South Australian Premier, the Hon Mike Rann, has written to the PSA advising that a Labor Government will commit to continuing its 'no forced redundancies' policy if successful at the next election. PSA welcomes the commitment from the Premier. A copy of the Premier's letter is available here. “This is great news for the thousands of State Public Sector workers who provide invaluable services to the South Australian community.” said Jan McMahon, PSA General Secretary. “It enables stability and provides a commitment to quality in the public sector.” No response has yet been received from the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon Rob Kerin. The Premier has also committed to challenging the Federal Government's WorkChoices Legislation.
