PSA
EB 2006 CLAIM
The PSA has lodged its Enterprise Bargaining claim for 2006.
The claim, which was unanimously endorsed by metropolitan and regional Worksite Representatives meetings, contains the following:
Recognition that members require a fair wages outcome, job security and protection of current entitlements, together with improvements to a number of conditions.
In addition, structural changes are proposed for several areas to overcome current recruitment and retention difficulties. These include Allied Health Professionals and Corrections Officers.
The claim needs to be read as a total package and has been made Without Prejudice to the PSA's right to vary or add to the claim up to the time of making the Agreement.
The claim contains the following key elements:
1. Salary increases of 5% per annum with effect 1 October 2006, 2007 and 2008.
2. Protection of existing conditions of employment and also;
* 14 weeks paid maternity and adoption leave * Overtime to be paid if no break after 5 hours * Improved Study Leave/Professional Development * Higher Duties Allowance for all periods of acting * Regional specific improvements
3. Structural adjustment. The EB outcome shall not preclude structural changes if they have not been resolved prior to an Enterprise Agreement being made.
4. Classifications
* Automatic progression merging the base and next level * Introduction of an 'Expert' concept with an appropriate salary level * Career pathways for clinical excellence * Reduction of number of increments * Vary Professionals commencing salary to recognise type or number of degrees or qualifications
