EB 2006 – SBC MEETING Today a Single Bargaining Centre (SBC) meeting was conducted to formally discuss the Government's new Wages Parity Agreement offer for Salaried Employees to replace the existing arbitrated Award which expired on 30 September 2006. The PSA was represented by President Lindsay Oxlad, General Secretary Jan McMahon, Assistant General Secretary Nev Kitchin and Industrial Officer Simon Johnson. Firstly, the PSA advised the SBC of members 'in principle' support of the Government offer. Additionally, the PSA sought to establish an operative date for increased paid maternity and adoption leave. Government representatives were asked to provide paid time meetings for affected employees to enable discussions on the current offer. The PSA and Government are continuing to finalise processes where the majority of employees support the new Enterprise Agreement. In relation to Professional work level definitions, the PSA is seeking clarification on a number of matters. PSA MEETS WITH MINISTER WEATHERILL President Lindsay Oxlad, General Secretary Jan McMahon, Assistant General Secretary Nev Kitchin and Industrial Officer Simon Johnson today met with Minister Weatherill. The PSA sought the establishment of appropriate consultative mechanisms following the abolition of DAIS and the Office of Public Employment as a result of the recent Budget announcement. Minister Weatherill reaffirmed his commitment to thorough consultation with the PSA in all matters relating to Public Sector Reform and the PSA looks forward to regular meetings with the Minister with regard to these matters.
